While this announcement most certainly brings about reflections on the changing dynamics within higher education. #highereducationleadership continues to be challenged to navigate shifts in demographics, technology, and societal needs. The closure of the Waukesha campus reminds us of the importance of strategic planning and collaboration within the academic community. It underscores the necessity for institutions to remain agile and responsive to the needs of their students and the broader community. As we navigate these transitions, let's collectively champion a vision where higher education is not only accessible but also adaptive and responsive to the needs of our diverse student body. By fostering a culture of innovation, we can ensure that our institutions remain pillars of knowledge and empowerment.Academic Impressions is interested in assisting #higheredleaders design constructive conversations, share best practices, and collaborate to inspire positive change that leads institutions into the new era of #highereducation #Innovation #Leadership #EducationTransformation

Clearly, Wisconsin continues to lead the nation in public college closures. I also see Pennsylvania and New York as high risk states for public college closures.https://lnkd.in/gf949zVeKelly Meyerhofer #collegeviability #collegeclosures #willmycollegeclose

It is surprising to see only 3 comments on this post from Gary Stocker while his posts on private college closures (like Birmingham-Southern) typically see more. Privates like publics play a crucial role in shaping the academic landscape and growth opportunities for students. Their impact on individuals' lives and community as a whole cannot be overstated. Therefore leadership regardless of private or public should be held accountable equally. Now exists the opportunity for reflection and reinvention. The need for reinvention of leadership development, innovative business practices and approaches to education and community engagement is paramount. #highereducation #futureoflearning #highereducationleadership

Appreciate this perspective from Lori Batista McEwen. The power of a Portrait of a Learner/Graduate is in the recognition it builds in needing to reinvent the relationships, experiences, and environments of school. The magic is in doing it! This The 74 Media article is a good reminder that not connecting with purpose and finding meaning in school is a barrier; this also means in examining what does bring purpose/joy/engagement, we have a way forward.

What is preposterous to me is that the Department of Education has offered no evidence or examples in their defense of eliminating these course materials intervention models.Decades of research has proven that the "student choice" model of course materials acquisition does not work. It presents insurmountable barriers for millions of students.#InclusiveAccess and #EquitableAccess tore down the systemic institutional barriers to higher education that have prevented underrepresented student populations from accessing higher education and pursing their American Dream. Are these models perfect? No, but tell me what model is? If given the chance to provide a helping hand to 80-90% of students in higher education or letting 100% of them fend for themselves, I will always choose the former. What I know to be true from my work with hundreds of campuses is that Inclusive and Equitable Access have given students more access to course materials, more affordable choices, and more opportunity to prove their ability in the classroom and rather than their resourcefulness to get into it."The thing that is rare is #opportunity, not #ability" - Lester Frank Ward

We emphasize putting your child at the center of the college hunt, focusing on their talents, passions, and learning style, rather than solely on financial factors. We'll guide you through rethinking the traditional process, where financial aid forms and college bills dictate decisions, and instead, lead with what truly matters - your child’s unique needs and aspirations.
